About this Event
Ethereal: Art Showcase
Welcome to Ethereal: An Art Showcase!
"Ethereal" is the theme of this showcase that highlights, uplifts, and centers artwork by artists that live in the intersections of being trans/gender-expansive (or gender creative), BIPOC, and either immigrants or children of immigrants (first generation).
"Ethereal" was chosen because trans folks and immigrants are marginalized and seen "out of this world", but the word ethereal hints at the divinity that folks bring (experiences and culture). Artists are asked to interpret the word how they see fit.
Aside from showing their work to the public (for some, for the first time), the hope is that people will buy the artwork to support artists who share identities that are "strategically undervalued".
Storytelling is an important part of history-making and justice work, so come support these 5 artists.
We are proudly being catered by BlissBomb, an LGBTQ-owned mini donut business based in NYC. Donuts will be first come, first serve.
