Tanya Brakeman is an intimacy communication guide for people in intimate relationships and those who want to be.

With the tools of Essential Relating, a set of deep relating skills developed over that last 10 years, Tanya helps people who are craving deeper intimacy and stronger connection in their relationships to have the really uncomfortable, but vital conversations for addressing what isn't working between them so they can grow stronger through the difficulty, rather than allowing their fears and resentments to push each other away.

Session 4 Practice: Making an Active Request

Co Creating Active Consent - Learn to use the consent model Interested - Available - Willing to clarify actual interest, availability and willingness in your interactions with other people.

1. Have you ever wondered why people say yes to you but then don't show up completely ready to meet you in your expectations?
2. Have you noticed your own tendency to say yes to people, but then feel like you aren't a full yes and then you either don't “show up” completely or you feel forced to comply? These are feelings we can all relate to in one way or another and in different settings.
3. This exercise offers you new insight to practicing relaying your own most accurate degree of interest, availability, and therefore true willingness before you commit and a way to determine that kind of clarity also with those you are inviting to connect with you.
