Escape to the breathtaking landscapes of Snowdonia National Park (Eryri) for a relaxed, sociable walking weekend designed for both newcomers to mountain terrain and experienced hikers who simply want to enjoy the hills without the pressure. This is your chance to slow down, explore beautiful scenery, and share the experience with a friendly group of like‑minded people.
Across two days of guided walks—none of which involve summiting Snowdon / Yr Wyddfa—you’ll soak up stunning views, breathe deeply in nature, maybe dip into a refreshing plunge pool, and let our supportive, qualified guides take care of all navigation and logistics. No previous mountain experience is needed; just a reasonable level of fitness and a sense of adventure.
Depending on group size, you’ll be able to choose between a more challenging mountain route or a gentler valley walk each day. A few weeks before the event, a WhatsApp group will open so you can get to know the group, ask questions, and decide which walks suit you best. We’ll set off around 9:30am each morning and return between 3:30–4pm, giving you plenty of time to unwind, explore, or socialise. On Saturday evening, you’ll have the option to join a group meal and drinks at a welcoming local pub.
Our social base for the weekend is the lively village of Betws‑y‑Coed, offering plenty of accommodation options. Walks will take place in the beautiful areas around Beddgelert and Llyn Dinas for gentler routes, or on more adventurous peaks and scrambles such as Moel Siabod for those wanting a challenge.
Further Info:
The full weekend costs £85, with the option to secure your place with a £21.25 deposit and pay later.
Abigail's Trails is not a registered tour operator, therefore, you will need to provide your own travel, food and accommodation for the duration of the weekend. However we will share information about the various places to stay in the area, so you can find something that suits your budget and required comfort level. With this in mind, you will most likely need your own transport for the weekend to get to our meeting points from your accommodation, each day.
Dogs are welcome on our walks and for the social evening (we will choose a dog-friendly pub), but must be well-behaved, friendly and fit / agile enough to cope with full day walks (max. 2 dogs per person).
Children aged 14+ are welcome to join us with an accompanying adult on our walks and evening meal, but may not be able to join us for the social after the meal.
As with all Abigail's Trails, this is a small-group guided walking event led by professional Mountain Leaders with public liability insurance, Outdoor First Aid and Mental Health First Aid certificates.
We recommend having insurance to cover, at a minimum: cancellation and curtailment, and personal injury.
