About Erin McDougald:
Improvisational Jazz Vocalist Erin McDougald has released four critically lauded studio albums
under her lead; two of the four have charted in the top 40 of the National Jazz Billboards. Her
most recent album, Outside the Soiree, was chosen as an Editor’s Pick in Downbeat and named
“one of the best vocal jazz albums of the year” by multiple other global jazz platforms, jazz radio
programmers and music publications from the United States to Europe, Canada and Asia. Her
tours, live recorded performances and studio albums have included jazz legends, luminaries and
GRAMMY-winning artists in her coterie of bandmates and close-collaborators, including: Ira
Sullivan, Dave Liebman, Tom Harrell, Paul Wertico, Carlos Henriquez, Ben Wolfe, Chembo
Corniel, Johnny Frigo, Buddy Bregman, Rodney Green, Mark Sherman, Nicholas Payton, Cedar
Walton, Harold Mabern, Bruce Forman and Orlando Sanchez-Soto, among others. McDougald has
headlined some of the most prestigious and famous music clubs in America, such as: The Jazz
Showcase, The Green Mill and long-standing residences at The Pump Room and The Allerton
(among many others) in Chicago; Vibrato Grille and The Mint in Los Angeles; Anthropology, Club
Delux, and Savanna Jazz in San Francisco; The Velvet Note in Atlanta; and a plethora of venues all
over Manhattan including Smalls, Club Bonafide, The Metropolitan Club, 54 Below, Smoke and an
appearance on New Year’s Eve with Wynton Marsalis at Dizzy’s Coca-Club in Lincoln Center.
McDougald has performed multiple times at The Chicago Jazz Festival as well as venues across
Europe, including Le Bilbouquet Club and Le Caveau de la Huchette in Paris. Her singing is most
celebrated for her elastic vocal range, sophisticated arrangements of standards, obscurities and
originals, and her dynamic use of sound and swing.
