Erik Lewin is a stand-up comedian who has performed at major comedy clubs around the country.
This class will cover the basics and fundamentals of stand up comedy writing and stage performance; these include particulars like what to do with the microphone stand, how to command an audience's attention, techniques to remain calm and focused under the lights, using one's voice for maximum effect, how to use silence and when to pause, how to identify funny ideas and turn them into comedy gold, the mechanics of writing a joke, how to generate punchlines, the critical importance of proper editing, developing a set (5 min for these purposes) exploring one's unique perspectives and attitudes for being hilarious and so much more!!!
