Erie, PA – 2/22/25 – SSJNN’s Bike Program, which has long repaired used bicycles for community members, is celebrating its Opening Week as Erie Bike Co-op with a used bike drive and new services.The kick-off event will take place on Saturday, March 22nd, from 10am to 2pm at 436 E 26th St. Erie, PA 16504. This bike-centric occasion will feature a variety of activities for all ages and skill levels, including a bike donation drive, kid’s bike giveaway, adult bike sales, basic tune-up services, and chance to connect with Erie’s cycling community.
Event Highlights:
Bike Drive – Drop off your used bicycles for donation and receive a coupon for a free repair class (Saturday donations only)! All donated bikes will help support the co-op’s mission of increasing access to bikes and bike repair services in the community. Donors can also receive a tax-deduction receipt and the opportunity to explore our newly updated space. Bicycle donations will be accepted through March 29, please email [email protected] to set up a donation outside of the Saturday event.
Kid’s Bike Giveaway – We have a limited number of free, refurbished bikes for kids in need on a first-come, first-served basis. Volunteers will be on hand to match kids with the right bike and provide safety tips and basic repair knowledge.
Adult Bike Sales – Looking for a new ride? Stop by our adult bike sales area, where you’ll find quality used bikes available on a sliding scale from $20-$150. All purchases will support the co-op and our mission to promote accessible cycling in Erie.
Pay-what-you-can Basic Tune-Up Service – We’re offering donation-based tune-up services from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Get your bike in shape for spring with the help of our skilled volunteer mechanics. No matter your budget, we’re here to help you get rolling.
Unveiling of New Repair Classes and Membership Options – The co-op is expanding its educational offerings! Come check out our schedule for upcoming repair classes, membership options, volunteer opportunities, and more. Sign-up for classes and get exclusive access to discounts and services.
Other Fun Features:
Refreshments provided, including bagels, fruit, and coffee.
SSJNN and Bike Erie will be on-site, promoting a variety of community-centered services and opportunities.
This event offers an excellent opportunity to connect with cyclists, tune up your current ride for spring, and donate your old bikes to a good home. All are welcome!
