Melbourne-born vocalist and double bassist Erica Bramham returns to the Paris Cat after several years performing in Europe, leading the shimmering Ensemble Bohemica on a trip through Prague. Here, in the heart of Europe, chanson drifts through cellar cafés, folk melodies beckon around street corners and jazz electrifies the night air.
In this spirit, the ensemble weaves a set of French and Czech chanson, European and American folk, and a handful of American Songbook favourites. Think of a hidden corner where Édith Piaf, Miles Davis, Leonard Cohen and Chet Baker might all have passed through on different nights, leaving their traces behind in the smoke.
