Among them are several works by Erastus Dow Palmer including the acclaimed Angel of the Sepulchre created by the artist who rose to international fame as one of the 19th century’s leading sculptors.
Dr. Lynn Radlick will introduce Palmer known as “the Sculptor of this City“ and explore his enduring legacy within Albany Rural Cemetery. Through a blend of historical and contemporary images Dr. Radlick will highlight Palmer’s artistry the memorials he designed within the cemetery and the remarkable people they commemorate.
