About this Event
EPS Wednesday Night talk
Join us in person for the EPS Wednesday Night talk! It’s the perfect midweek break to hear from superb photographers and connect with fellow enthusiasts. Come and enjoy an evening full of wonderful images and fascinating stories. We can’t wait to see you there!
This week's presenter is Eion Johnston (FRPS) with a talk entitled A Body of Work.
The talk accompanies his exhibition which looks at Eion's development of approaches to creative photographic art based on the art nude. He will place this into the context of being a member of Edinburgh Photographic Society for the past fifteen years.
Taking inspiration from Hilla and Berndt Becher's work on typologies from the 1960's onwards Eion uses human shapes and forms as the elements of a photographic language. As well as hearing from Eion you will be able to see his prints as they are on display in our premises.
The principal element in the exhibition is the non-sexualised human body – in some cases creatively presented in distressing situations reflecting on the effects of World events.
