About this Event
Join EPIC for an afternoon of adventure at the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment in San Marcos!
We’ll kick things off with a private glass-bottom boat tour, where expert guides will introduce us to Spring Lake, one of the oldest continuously inhabited sites in North America. Floating atop the Edwards Aquifer, you’ll learn about the lake’s fascinating history, its unique plants and animals, and why protecting our waterways is so important.
After the boat tour, we’ll break into smaller groups and alternate between two recreational activities: guided snorkeling + a guided land tour.
- Snorkeling in Spring Lake – Dive into spring-fed waters that stay a refreshing 72 degrees year-round to learn about the lake’s endangered and threatened species and help connect the dots between our local ecosystems and water conservation. All snorkeling equipment is provided, and no prior experience is required.
- Guided Land Hike – Take a walk to learn about the unique plants and animals of the region and the importance of protecting our waterways.
After we wrap up, we hope you'll join us at Kerby Lane Cafe in San Marcos to keep the EPIC conversations flowing—food and drinks available for purchase.
Capacity is limited, so be sure to sign up now before tickets sell out.
- Tickets are FREE for active EPIC members
- Non-member general admission tickets are available for purchase
