Matthias Zeitler builds and operates long-term residential environments where people live and work — with a focus on making them economically and structurally viable over time, not just attractive in the short term.
He has lived and worked internationally and is now based in Bulgaria, where he leads large-scale real estate and community projects. As chairman and operational lead of Coliving Semkovo, he is responsible for the redevelopment of a ~17,000 m² former hotel into a residential community with more than 200 units.
His work centers on turning underused or mispositioned assets into functioning places — designing ownership structures, operational models, and governance that hold up under real conditions. He typically leads projects through uncertainty and then steps back once they are stable.
Matthias was co-founder of Coworking Bansko, contributing to the town’s emergence as a global remote work hub, and founder of Bansko Nomad Fest, which he later exited. His earlier career includes senior product and technology leadership roles in international, enterprise-scale environments.
His current and upcoming projects include Thracian Views, a residential redevelopment near Sofia, and Nomad Pioneers — an initiative exploring how new remote-work ecosystems form in emerging locations.
His perspective is pragmatic: less about vision and positioning, more about what actually works over time — financially, operationally, and socially.
