Ensemble Fractales invites you to a unique concert featuring the creations of the five composers selected for their Fractales Residency.
Selected from 393 applicants, these talented composers from Colombia, France, Italy, Sweden, and Belgium are distinguished by their rich and varied musical worlds. For a week, they worked hand-in-hand with Fractales musicians during an immersive residency in the Belgian countryside, a moment of intense exploration where ideas merged and sounds intertwined.
This programme zigzags through the jungle of the distinctuive sound worlds of these five artists. Both Sarah Wéry -- with her dancing stools and House music -- and Yuri Demetz -- whose voice gives live instructions to the ensemble during his -- invite us to post-apocalyptic universes. In contrast, Christoffer Håård and Clément Pauvert both invite us to open our ears and listen closely to the most fragile and intimate sounds produced by these instruments whether used rhythmically or statically. Finally, Matias de Roux, always focused on bringing fun and excitement to his pieces, takes on a rollercoaster ride using custom-made 3D printed instruments.
Whether you're curious about new sounds or passionate about contemporary creation, this musical moment promises to be an inspiring experience not to be missed!
