About this Event
With the 89th Texas Legislature session approaching, Texas has the chance to enhance the value of health care investment by addressing patients' non-medical needs. The unsustainable increase in health care costs, coupled with declining health outcomes, has diminished the value of health care expenditures. Spending nearly $50 billion on health care, Texas has a unique opportunity to enhance the impact of its spending by increasing its investment in non-medical services that significantly impact health outcomes.
In this panel, healthcare leaders will explore policy options that Texas can adopt to advance the integration of non-medical services into healthcare delivery, as other states have done. Panelists will explain how changes in state policy can enhance the value of Texas’ investment in Medicaid, mental health, and women’s health, including opportunities for the upcoming legislative session.
