Enhanced Letters and Sounds: Effective Whole School Literacy Instruction

Enhanced Letters and Sounds effectively targets the development of phonological awareness, reading, and spelling from Kindergarten through to Year 2/3, in addition to providing an excellent structure for remediation in upper primary and beyond. The program aligns with the achievement standards outlined in the Australian Curriculum (English) and has been shown to significantly improve whole-school literacy outcomes.
In addition to providing educators with extensive knowledge of the (enhanced) Letters and Sounds program, this workshop reviews the research underpinning the approach as well as the evidence-informed teaching and instructional practices that are linked to the scope and sequence. The training includes the tools, resource, and assessment recommendations, along with the information necessary to successfully implement (enhanced) Letters and Sounds at a whole-school, classroom and/or intervention level.
