About this Event
Dear Champion.
Thank you for your continued engagement with the Workplace Domestic Abuse Champions Network.
As part of our ongoing commitment to the support you provide as a Workplace Domestic Abuse Champion, we would like to offer you an opportunity to attend a second training session that will provide further information on the support that a victim of domestic abuse may need in the workplace and the role you can play in ensuring these needs are met.
Creating Space for Change Training will provide you with addition awareness of issues faced when domestic abuse is prevalent. During the training we aim to:-
• Review what is meant by the terms ‘domestic violence and abuse’ and seek to dispel some of the myths that characterise public perceptions in this area
• Examine the barriers that victims of DVA commonly face when they start to think about leaving and who they commonly turn to for help.
• Explore the various stages that a victim may encounter when contemplating the life-changing decision to leave and how others can help to create space in which a victim may take action safely
• Explore the 4 R’s – Recognise, Respond, Refer & Record – as the key elements of an effective response to DVA
This session is only available to Workplace Champions within the Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner's Champions Network.
Training takes around 3 hours to complete and is delivered via Microsoft Teams.
Please book your preferred training date via Eventbrite and for more information email [email protected]
