What is English Country Dancing?
English country dancing (ECD) was the social dance of the country folk in England and the Colonies, popular from the mid-1500s to the 1820s. Today’s ECD evenings feature dances from the English Renaissance all the way to modern compositions written in the traditional style. The dances can be elegant, rowdy, silly, stately, campy, simple, complex. And we’ll be dancing to LIVE MUSIC!
