Lord Brooke of Warwick Castle is recruiting soldiers for his regiment. Come join Parliament's army and help over throw the king.
Meet the Worcester Reenactors and explore their authentic Civil War encampment. Discover what life was really like for parliamentary soldiers and civilians in the army through thrilling drill displays, musket gunfire, crafts, and living history demonstrations.
Wander through the ground floor of the historic house to uncover period rooms, displays and stories from the Civil War era, bringing this remarkable site to life.
There will also be a variety of trade stalls offering living‑history goods, crafts and period‑inspired items.
You are welcome to bring a picnic and spend the day.
A fantastic day out for history lovers and families alike!
There will be timed musket demonstrations during the event. This will include loud noises.

Parking
There is no on-site parking available for visitors at St John’s House but we can reserve spaces for blue badge holders. Please contact: [email protected] to reserve a space.
There is a large pay-and-display at St Nicholas Park, which can be accessed via St John’s Brook garden. There are also a number of other pay-and-display car parks around Warwick, as well as metered parking on many of the streets nearby.
Public Transport
The closest bus stop to the St John’s House is on Coten End, serviced by the X17 between Warwick and Coventry via Leamington Spa. Other buses are available from Warwick bus station, a 12 minute walk from St John’s.
St John’s House is a 5 minute walk from Warwick train station. Trains run from Leamington Spa, Stratford, Birmingham and London, operated by Chiltern Railways.
Accessibility
Wheelchair access to ground floor. Public toilets are located within the house and include an accessible toilet and baby changing facilities.
Free Carer Tickets
We can offer one free ticket to a carer accompanying a paying attendee. Carers are included in the total event numbers and so are subject to limited availability. Please contact [email protected] to book. Accompanying carers must be booked in advance. If an accompanying carer has not booked in advance they may not be admitted.
Other concessionary rates or discounts are not offered unless otherwise specified in the event listing.
Cancellation Policy:
· Tickets cannot be refunded or returned.
· Refunds will not be offered for non-attendance at an event.
· Tickets are not transferable and accordingly may not be sold or passed to any third party
· Free tickets can be cancelled at any time via Eventbrite.
We reserve the right to reschedule, postpone or cancel an event at any time.
In the unlikely event that we have to cancel your booking, we will offer you an alternative date where possible. If an alternative date is not possible, we will issue you a full refund for your ticket cost.
We cannot be held responsible for any other costs incurred to you due to the cancellation of an event.
