About this Event

In our tech-driven age, code isn’t just a part of our lives—it’s the heartbeat of our digital existence. From simplifying our daily tasks to opening doors to new innovations, it powers everything we do. Yet, with recent high-profile breaches the stakes have never been higher. How can we harness the potential of code while safeguarding against its pitfalls?

We invite you to join us as we deep dive into the world of digital infrastructure and unravel the dual-edged sword of our digital reliance—celebrating the possibilities while tackling the complexities and risks that come with them.

Our expert panel, spearheaded by , will lead a thought-provoking discussion on:

  • Cybersecurity Essentials: How to protect and fortify our digital realm.
  • Crafting Superior Code: The art and science behind reliable and efficient programming.
  • The Broader Impact: Exploring the economic, social, and legal impacts of digital infrastructure.

Panellist:

  • , Senior Lecturer in Computer Science & Engineering- Her research spans applied cryptography, post-quantum cryptography, cybersecurity, blockchains, and data privacy. She has received several competitive grants and has delivered over 100 lectures globally. Dr. Ruj is a senior member of ACM and IEEE, serving on various editorial boards and program committees. Prior to UNSW, she was a Senior Research Scientist at CSIRO’s Data61 and held academic positions in India. She holds a Ph.D. and Master’s in Computer Science from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.
