About this Event
Join WTS-KC for an engaging panel discussion exploring how meaningful public involvement can shape stronger, more responsive transportation systems across our area. Engagement That Moves Us brings together leading voices from across the public and private sectors to share how they are redefining the role of community input—moving beyond traditional outreach to create impactful, inclusive engagement strategies that drive better project outcomes.
Panelists Include:
- Taylor Ngo, Parsons + Associates
- Alicea Thompson, Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT)
- Kate Sweeten, Clarkson Construction Company
- Mira Felzian, Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA)
Together, these professionals will share real-world insights on how thoughtful public involvement influences the planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure. The conversation will highlight best practices for meaningful meetings and lessons learned throughout the panelists’ careers. Whether you're a planner, engineer, policymaker, or community advocate, this session will leave you inspired to think differently about public involvement—and equipped with ideas to make engagement truly count.
Following the panel discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with the panelists. Guests are also invited to stay afterward to network, connect with fellow professionals, and enjoy the Clarkson Construction rooftop until 6 PM. Ticket price includes two drinks, charcuterie, and happy hour bites.
Street parking is available, and the Streetcar Crossroads Stop (19th & Main) is just a short walk away.
