The Symposium’s expert keynote and guest presenters highlighted below are actively working in their respective fields to increase endometriosis awareness — a painful disease that affects 1 in 10 of those assigned female at birth in the US, similar to the number affected by diabetes or asthma.

A world-renowned expert in minimally invasive robotic excisional endometriosis surgery, the New York City-based master surgeon Dr. Andrea Vidali specializes in endometriosis surgery as it relates to pain, infertility, implantation failure and pregnancy loss.

Dr. Juan Salgado-Morales, MD, is an obstetrics and gynecology specialist from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and focuses on minimally invasive surgery.

6:30 PM – Art as Healing: Transforming Pain into Purpose
Kyung Jeon-Miranda will present her artwork as a vehicle to explore the emotional and physical realities of living with endometriosis, using creativity to inspire awareness, dialogue, and healing.
Her husband Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez will discuss his inspiration behind creating Luz La Luminosa, the first superhero with endometriosis, and their work as advocates.
