Ending Violence Against Women and Girls – It’s In Your Hands
Conference – Monday 23 March 2026 – 9.00am – 4.30pm
Hosted by Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council
Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council invites you to an insightful conference as part of its ongoing commitment to The Executive Office End Violence Against Women and Girls Strategic Framework 2024–31.
Supported by the Executive Office Momentum Fund, this event explores the growing influence of the manosphere—a network of online spaces that promote misogyny, anti‑feminist narratives, and harmful constructions of masculinity—and examines its links to intimate partner violence, societal attitudes, and community safety.
What to Expect
Join us for a thought‑provoking programme featuring four leading voices who will share research, lived experience, and insights into the online misogyny landscape:
- Debbie Ging (Dublin City University)
Speaking on the manosphere, online misogyny, and its connections to intimate partner violence. - Aisling McMorrow (Queen’s University Belfast)
Exploring violent misogyny as a form of extremist ideology and the current gaps in policy recognition. - Aimée Walsh (Mirror Group London)
Offering a media perspective on how social attitudes toward misogyny are shaped, and how social platforms have elevated figures such as Andrew Tate and Bonnie Blue to cult‑like status among young men. - James Blake (BBC & Podcaster)
Sharing lived experience and professional insights from a male perspective on misogyny, online harm, and its wider impact.
This conference is delivered in partnership with:
- The Southern Area Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Partnership
- The Local Adult Safeguarding Partnership
