*This exhibition runs from 5 February to 11 April 2026 and is open during normal museum opening hours. Additional event listings cover other exhibition dates.*Visitors to the National Waterways Museum Gloucester are invited to discover Encounters with the Severn, a photographic exhibition reflecting the changing life and landscapes of Britain’s longest river.
Created by Cheltenham Camera Club, one of England’s oldest photographic societies, the project follows the River Severn along its 220-mile course, from its source near Llanidloes to the line between the Avon and the Usk.
Through a series of striking images, the exhibition offers a snapshot of the river and its communities in the early twenty-first century. Moments of industry and movement sit alongside quieter stretches of water, where history and modern life exist closely together.
- Exhibition dates: 5 February - 11 April 2026
- Opening times: Tuesday–Saturday, 10am-4pm (Open during normal museum opening hours. Closed Sundays and Mondays.)
