En Ritmo Dance Workshop: A Movement Praxis in Decolonization

En Ritmo is a free, public-facing dance workshop that explores rhythm, dialogue, and resistance through a collective movement practice rooted in the elements of Puerto Rican bomba and contemporary dance. Developed over the past decade as part of a practice-led PhD research process, this liberatory praxis investigates how dance can function as a decolonial tool within institutional spaces. Through improvisation, music, journaling, and reflection, participants engage in a ritualized experience of gathering and exchange. All movers are welcome—no prior experience required.
