The 18th annual Empty Bowls event, which raises hunger awareness and funds for the Table of Grace food pantry, will be held Wednesday, March 25 from 11 AM to 1 PM at Grace Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 113 Hargrove Road, Tuscaloosa.Attendees are asked to make a $25 donation at the door to partake of a simple meal of soup, bread, and water while enjoying live entertainment and taking home a hand-crafted bowl made by local artisans and University of Alabama ceramics students. For an additional $5, attendees can have their meal and bowl packaged “to go.”
Entertainment is being provided by local musicians Jil Chambliss and Dan Vogt of the traditional Irish/English/Scottish trio, the Vulcan Eejits.
Payment for Empty Bowls can be made at the door by cash, check, or through PayPal. Tickets also will be sold at the event for a prize drawing.
