Join us for our annual Empty Bowls fundraiser for our Community Harvest Meal Distribution program. Community Harvest is a food program run out of our Center for Community Engaged Leadership, Learning and Research in collaboration with St. John's United Church of Christ. We distribute about 520 meals monthly to our neighbors who experience food insecurity.1 out of 8 people in Snyder, Union and Northumberland Counties experience food insecurity. Our program provides 4 consistent meals monthly to help contribute towards food security.
Empty Bowls takes place on Wednesday, March 18 in the Terrace Room in the Elaine Langone Center on the Bucknell Campus. There are two sessions: a breakfast session from 8am-10am and a lunch session from 11am-2pm. Breakfast includes oatmeal, yogurt & granola and lunch includes a variety of delicious soups!
All attendees will get to choose a handmade bowl made by a Bucknell student, learn more about food insecurity in our region and be able to peruse our Silent Auction to bid on a variety of local goods. Items include gift cards to local establishments, goody baskets & more!
During the lunchtime shift, we will have a special guest speaker, Rachel Herman, Food Security Manager at the Union-Snyder Community Action Agency.
Tickets are $14 each for General Admission. There is a Student/Youth rate of $8 each! Both can be purchased at

Tickets go on sale next Monday, Feburary 9! NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE DOOR.
