Empowerment Self Defense SeminarSaturday, March 28th / 1:30 - 5 PM / $65
Empowerment Self Defense looks at personal safety from the assumption that everyone is powerful enough to keep themselves safe, and focuses on training physical and verbal tools to de escalate and manage violent situations.
You Will Learn Personal Safety Tools, Including:
Tools for self awareness
Tools for situational awareness and assessment.
Effective boundary setting and de-escalation techniques
Physical tools and skills
The seminar will be lead by:
Deb Mier, who is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Empowerment Self Defense instructor. She co-chairs the Board of IMPACT Chicago Self Defense, sharing its mission to foster a peaceful world where everyone can live with dignity. As a credentialed ESDP, Deb offers personal safety workshops for youth, adults, and those with disabilities.
Mark Nessel who is a pioneering Empowerment Self Defense instructor and writer, has over 35 years of teaching experience. Mark is a retired instructor and current instructor trainer for IMPACT Chicago, and has also been a board member for Empowerment Self Defense Global, an NGO focused on providing self-defense training globally.
