Lt. Governor Aruna Miller is Maryland’s 10th Lieutenant Governor, the second woman to hold the position, and the first woman of color and immigrant elected to statewide office in Maryland.
Born in Andhra Pradesh, India, she immigrated to the U.S. at age 7 and earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology.
Lt. Governor Miller spent 25 years as a civil and transportation engineer in Montgomery County, improving public safety and equitable access to transportation. From 2010 to 2018, she represented District 15 in the Maryland House of Delegates, championing STEM education, small businesses, working families, and environmental initiatives.
As Lieutenant Governor, her policy focus includes transportation, mental health, and STEM equity. She chairs the Governor’s Work Zone Safety Work Group and Maryland’s first Council on Interfaith Outreach, fostering religious tolerance and community service.
Sister Dr. Jenna is a renowned spiritual mentor, speaker, and author dedicated to elevating human consciousness and fostering peace globally. As the director of the Meditation Museum in the Washington, D.C. area, she has inspired countless individuals through mindfulness programs, values-based initiatives, and her former long-running America Meditating Radio Show, which featured over 1,700 episodes. She now hosts the popular Next Normal show on YouTube.
She and our team spearheaded 21 initiatives fostering resilience and values. She has appeared on the Housewives of Atlanta offering meditation and spiritual support for the wives. She also presented a fashion show, “Illuminating the Light Within” for the Paris 2024 Olympic Gala for the African Olympians.
Sister Dr. Jenna’s work has been recognized with the President's Lifetime National Community Service Award, and she is a proud member of the Evolutionary Leaders Circle. She has collaborated with the Oprah Winfrey Network on the Belief team and led transformative initiatives, such as planting trees for peace on Capitol Hill and at the Pentagon, symbolizing healing and unity.
Sister Jenna’s influence extends to federal agencies, where she has contributed to diversity and inclusion initiatives, including conferences at the Pentagon and the U.S. Coast Guard. Her album Om Shanti, created with Grammy winner Ricky Kej, and her interfaith leadership, including her book contributions, exemplify her dedication to building bridges and inspiring collective action for a better world.
Akshay Kuchibhatla is a STEM student at Arlington Tech High School who will begin his undergraduate studies at George Mason University in the fall.
