About this Event
Join Utah Foster Care for a special evening featuring an exclusive screening of a short documentary produced in partnership with Empowered with Meg Ryan. This moving 5-minute film follows the real-life journey of a teenager in foster care and the people who helped shape her path—including her foster parents, a dedicated community volunteer, and leaders working to support youth in care.
Following the screening, stay for a meaningful and engaging live panel conversation with the individuals featured in the film. The discussion will be hosted by Allison Holker, dancer, television personality, and advocate known for her work on shows like So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing with the Stars, along with Jenn Affleck, MomTok creator, entrepreneur, and community advocate. Together, they will guide a conversation about the unique experiences of teens in foster care, the challenges they face, and the powerful role that caring adults and communities can play in their lives.
This event is designed to inspire, inform, and open the door for anyone who wants to make a difference. After the program, guests are invited to mingle with Utah Foster Care staff to learn more about meaningful ways they can support teens in foster care—whether through mentoring, volunteering, community partnerships, or becoming foster parents.
