Join us for an empowering workshop designed specifically for queer, disabled, and non-monogamous individuals to learn how to create an advanced directive, facilitated by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Social Worker.
What is an Advanced Directive?
This essential document ensures that your healthcare wishes are honored, even if you're unable to communicate them yourself. In California, having an advanced directive is especially important, as it grants you the legal power to designate who makes medical decisions on your behalf—allowing you to protect your chosen family and ensure your values are respected.
What to Expect:

- Resources tailored to the needs of queer, disabled, and non-monogamous individuals
- Unstructured time to work on your advanced directive solo or with partners, friends, caregivers, etc.
In this free-flowing workshop ("office hours"), we'll guide you through the process step-by-step, offering practical advice and addressing unique concerns that often arise within our communities. Whether you're looking to safeguard your autonomy, ensure your partners have a say in your care, or simply want to be prepared for the unexpected, this workshop is for you.
Tickets are donation-based to compensate our professional volunteers for their time. We recommend $10, but please select the option that is best for you and your circumstances.

About the Facilitators:
Rachel Poppers (she/her), LCSW, ACHP-SW, is a hospice social worker originally from Sacramento. After spending 12 years in Texas, Rachel moved home to be closer to family. For fun, Rachel enjoys reading (audiobooks count!), being outside (yoga in the park anyone?), and spending time with family and friends.
Cady Moore (she/her), MPH, CSE, is an AASECT-certified sexuality educator and coach who empowers people to live their most pleasurable lives. She is dedicated to perpetuating healthy and positive messages about sexuality and self-worth, and she specializes in vulvovaginal wellness, menstrual health, pleasure exploration and communication, and non-monogamous dating and relationships. For nearly a decade, Cady has been teaching groups of all ages and from a variety of backgrounds. Cady spends her free time reading fantasy novels, painting, and caring for her ball python named Lilith, two cats, and 92 plants (and counting). Follow Cady at @ageofsexploration.
