🔥 Mindful Juniors Presents: Big Feelings Club – Managing Anger

Learning Healthy Ways to Express Big Emotions
A Mindful Juniors Workshop | Ages 7–12

“I’m so angry.”

Anger is one of the most powerful emotions children experience.
It can show up as shouting, tears, stubbornness, silence or even tummy aches.

But anger is not a “bad” emotion.

It is a signal.

When children learn to understand their anger instead of fearing it or acting it out, they build confidence, emotional safety and self-control.

This structured small-group workshop helps children recognise anger early, understand what it is trying to communicate and learn safe, healthy ways to express it.

🌱 What This Workshop Is About

In this session, children will explore:

• What anger feels like in the body
• Common triggers that spark big reactions
• The link between thoughts, feelings and actions
• The difference between feeling angry and acting aggressively
• Safe and constructive ways to express anger

We teach children that:

Anger is allowed.
Hurtful behaviour is not.

Through storytelling, guided discussion and creative activities, children will learn to pause, reflect and respond more safely when emotions run high.

🧠 Skills Your Child Will Build

This workshop supports:

• Emotional awareness and vocabulary
• Impulse control and regulation
• Problem-solving skills
• Healthy communication
• Frustration tolerance
• Confidence in expressing needs

These are foundational skills that support friendships, classroom behaviour and long-term resilience.

🎨 What We Will Do During the Session

Children will participate in:

• Emotion check-in circle
• Body awreness activity to identify early anger signals
• Understanding “anger triggers”
• Thought–feeling–action mapping (child-friendly CBT tool)
• Learning practical calming strategies
• Creating a personal “My Anger Plan” card

Activities are developmentally appropriate, interactive and conducted in a psychologically safe environment.

👧 Who Is This For?

Children aged 7–12 who:

• Struggle with frustration or outbursts
• Become easily overwhelmed when things feel unfair
• Have difficulty calming down once upset
• Experience friendship conflicts
• Would benefit from learning structured emotional regulation tools

This workshop is not therapy, but it is informed by psychological science and emotional development research.
