
About this Event
This 8-hour Emotional Intelligence course equips students with practical strategies to recognize, evaluate, and manage their own emotions, the emotions of others, and those of groups. Students learn tools and techniques to identify their own biases, beliefs, and moods, while understanding how these impact the culture of their immediate workplace and organization. Students explore the components of emotional intelligence, including how to increase self-awareness, self-regulation, internal motivation, empathy, and social skills. Tips to improve self-management skills are incorporated into the course to help students learn how to maintain healthy relationships, develop leadership skills, and effectively manage conflict. Students learn the benefits of active listening and effective communication by building mutual respect and trust in the workplace. During this course, students define self-care, understand its importance, review restorative practices, and determine available resources.
