November theme: Letting Go & Releasing
Enter the language of your body
Every emotion leaves an imprint. Some rest quietly in your lungs, others linger in your gut, waiting to be heard. Your body is more than muscles and bones – it is an emotional landscape, a living map of stories, tensions, and truths. What if you could learn to read this map? What if your own anatomy held the wisdom you need to release, to heal, and to move forward?
This is the essence of Emotional Anatomy. Through yin yoga and the lens of Chinese Medicine, you will uncover how your body speaks to you, and how to transform that language into practical guidance for daily life.

WHAT WE WILL EXPLORE
This autumn, our focus is on letting go and releasing – the element of metal in Chinese Medicine, connected to our lungs and large intestine. These organs teach us how to absorb what nourishes us, distinguish what to release, and clear what no longer serves us.
Together we will explore:
Where emotions are stored within your body.
The qualities and signals each organ represents.
How imbalance shows up physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Which yin yoga postures stimulate the energy meridians to restore flow and balance.

WHAT WILL YOU EXPERIENCE
Expect a deeply nourishing workshop that weaves together:
– A deeper Yin yoga practice to access the body’s deepest layers.
– Reflection questions to translate inner signals into insight.
– Open dialogue to learn from collective wisdom.
– Practical tools to bring your discoveries off the mat and into daily life.
Your body will become your teacher. You may sense repressed grief releasing from your lungs, lightness awakening in your heart, or the softening of tension long held in your belly. As you learn to read these subtle messages, you open the door to balance, resilience, and a deeper connection with yourself.
Emotional Anatomy is an invitation to soften, to listen, and to embody the art of transformation. The wisdom is already within you – this workshop shows you how to find it.

FOR WHOM
For those who are curious to dive deeper into the wisdom of their body and learn more about how to consciously apply Yin Yoga, on and off the yoga mat.

YOUR TEACHER
Kirsten van den Akker – certified yoga instructor, Yin specialist & embodiment coach.
Yin yoga has profoundly shaped Kirsten’s life, teaching her to work together with the body’s natural ability to heal and restore balance. Inspired by this practice, she founded Impact Yoga in 2017 with the mission to empower others in holistic health and mindful leadership through the soft power of Yin. Today, she leads international Yin retreats, workshops, and online (y)impact coaching programs—inviting people worldwide to reconnect on a deeper level with themselves and cultivate resilience from within.
