Welcome to the Emory University Dept. of Otolaryngology Temporal Bone Course!
The Temporal Bone Surgical Dissection Course offered by the Department of Otolaryngology of the Emory University School of Medicine is an intensive, five-day course geared towards otologic surgeons and residents. Participants will review surgical anatomy of the temporal bone and explore current concepts in the surgical management of ear disease.
Emphasis will be placed upon temporal bone drilling. Temporal bone surgical technique will address chronic ear disease, stapedectomy, ossicular reconstruction, facial nerve exposure, vestibular surgery, transmastoid labyrinthectomy, internal auditory canal dissection, cochlear and bone-anchored implant surgery as well as intact canal wall and canal wall down mastoidectomy. Radiology and histology of the temporal bone will also be covered.
