Music on the Delaware is pleased to present a flute and cello duo at its April 19, 2026, Coffeehouse at the Theatre. Flutist Emily Hutchinson will be joined by cellist Svetlana Garitselova in this Sunday evening 6:00 p.m. concert in the Andrea Retz Paternoster room of the Walton Theatre, 30 Gardiner Pl, Walton, NY.
The concert will be an evening of chamber music for flute and cello from a variety of musical styles and time periods. The program promises something for everyone, including a Latina reimagining of Bach's famous flute Partita; an instrumental setting of poetry by Robert Frost; and the thrilling "Jet Whistle" by Villa-Lobos.

Emily Hutchinson is a Catskills-based performer and instructor. Holding a B.S. in Flute Performance from Roberts Wesleyan University, she is on faculty at the Roberts Community Music School. She has appeared as a concerto soloist with four orchestras and has performed in masterclasses with Jim Walker, Paul Edmund-Davies, and Elizabeth Ostling, among others. In 2020, Emily was a winner of the National Flute Association Professional Flute Choir Competition, playing first flute at their virtual convention. Prior to that, she was a winner of the NFA Collegiate Flute Choir Competition, performing with Project Trio in Washington, D.C. Recent performance venues include Music on the Delaware, Asbury First United Methodist Church, Cobblestone Arts Center, Eastman School of Music, and Christ Church, London.
Svetlana Garitselova is a versatile cellist, who especially enjoys performing chamber music. She is the principal cellist of Las Vegas Sinfonietta Chamber Orchestra and has performed with Andrea Bocelli, Adele, Paul Anka, Nevada Ballet, Las Vegas City Opera, Candlelight concerts and as a soloist throughout North America, Europe, Russia and Japan. She is a member of the Syracuse, Binghamton and Erie, PA, Symphony orchestras. A passionate educator who enjoys teaching cello of all ages and levels, Svetlana is glad to be on faculty at Hochstein music school, maintains a private cello studio in Rochester NY and coaches chamber ensembles. Svetlana studied cello with Professor Victor Simon at P. I. Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory and holds a Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music, where she studied with Professor Alan Harris.
As with all coffeehouse events, the performance is free, with desserts and drinks available. Donations to Music on the Delaware will be gratefully accepted.
