Emily Grabinski is a highly sought-after recitalist, chamber musician, and orchestral keyboardist. She landed her first gig as her high school’s musical accompanist and took off from there, going on to receive her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Central Michigan University and her Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from the Cleveland Institute of Music. While in Cleveland, she became a primary contributor to Classical Revolution; a chamber music organization dedicated to performing classical music in unlikely spaces. During this time, she could be heard anywhere from the renowned Cleveland Clinic to the neighborhood hot dog bar.Following a decade of playing within academic institutions (Ashland University, Cleveland State University, Grand Valley State University, Hope College, Grand Rapids Community College) as a staff accompanist, dance accompanist, opera repetiteur, and vocal coach, Emily decided to focus her efforts back to her first fascinations: solo and chamber repertoire. In November 2023, this brought her to Carnegie Hall with her longtime duo partner, clarinetist David Cook (Appian Duo).
Emily has shared the stage with internationally acclaimed artists such as Sujari Britt, Chee-Yun Kim, and Grammy-winning violinist Philippe Quint. She can currently be heard with the Appian Duo, the West Michigan Symphony, and the First Call Players; a select roster of musicians in West Michigan with whom she loves to play.
Emily has also contributed keys, vocals, and auxiliary percussion to an array of local bands and teaches a select number of piano enthusiasts at her home in Grand Rapids. She is eternally grateful for her husband and son. For more information, please visit www.emilygrabinski.com.
