About this Event
Emily & Kathleen Run Chicago 2026 Fundraiser
Join us at Backyard Boston for a special community fundraiser featuring a Runner’s Strength class led by our running coach and Backyard instructor, Brian LoTempio. This class will focus on foundational strength, stability, and mobility that support better mechanics and injury prevention.
We’ll also have raffle prizes, good company, and a chance to come together as a community in support of our Chicago 2026 journey. Whether you know us personally or are just part of the Backyard family, we’d love to have you there for a fun and meaningful afternoon!
A Note From Emily:
I’m running for Team ALZ Stars on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Association and raising money for research for a cure. Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia are incredibly common and devastating to families both emotionally and financially, but there is no cure and are very few effective treatments. I’m running in honor of my great grandmother who passed from Alzheimer’s and for my many friends who have been impacted by losing close loved ones to dementia.

A Note From Kathleen:
I’m running for the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago to help fund awareness, advocacy, and resources for people living with epilepsy and their caregivers. Epilepsy impacts 1 in 26 people, yet it’s often invisible and widely misunderstood. As someone who was diagnosed with epilepsy in my mid-twenties, this cause is deeply personal to me. A few years ago, I underwent brain surgery that gave me back a quality of life and the ability to safely return to marathon training. Being able to run the Chicago Marathon while fundraising for this cause feels especially meaningful.
