FREE Emergency Preparedness Workshop with Save The Children
The Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County is excited to announce a partnership with the national nonprofit, Save the Children, to offer a free, in-person emergency preparedness workshop designed specifically for our local child care providers.

9:00 am – 12:00 pm
2070 Waldemere Street, Sarasota Florida 34239
Workshop will be held at the Sarasota County Fire Station #2 in their emergency responder training space.
Participants will receive:
- In-service hours for completion
- An emergency preparedness kit from Save the Children
- One stipend per child care program(yes, you'll be paid to attend!)
What you'll walk away with:
A stronger, implementation-ready, written emergency plan including hazard identification, risk assessment, and strategies to safeguard your program and the children in your care.
*Please bring your current emergency plan with you to the workshop
This workshop will also feature a short presentation from the Outreach Team at Sarasota County Emergency Services who will share ways to enhance your emergency plan based on real-life lessons learned in the field. They will also share how their team can come to your child care site, for free, for an in-house field trip related to safety and prevention.
Who should attend:
Owners, Directors, Assistant Directors, and Family Child Care Homes, although a teacher may attend in your place if they play a key role in developing or implementing your emergency plan.
What you need to know:
- Workshop is open to any licensed child care provider in Sarasota County
- One ticket per participant
- Maximum of two participants per provider site
- Registration is required and will be considered on a first-come, first-serve basis
Note: Sarasota County School District is not eligible due to funding source requirements.
