Please join us on Saturday, Feb 1st from 1pm - 6pm(ish) for our annual Emerald Extravaganza Winter Benefit Hafla! There is plenty of room for all to dance, and we would love to see you onstage! We’d also love to see you in the audience, enjoying fabulous performances, nomming delicious food and drinks, and searching for treasures at the Belly Dancer Garage Sale.Entry is by donation, we suggest $5-10, or more as you are able to contribute. All proceeds from the Hafla, Raffle and Garage Sale go towards supporting the Emerald Sanctuary Belly Dance Retreat.

VOLUNTEER TO HELP DAY OF HAFLA
Emerald Sanctuary events absolutely cannot function without the essential support of our beloved and appreciated volunteers – the Werker Beez! We need volunteers between the hours of 11am - 6pm to help the Hafla run smoothly, from set up, take down, taking donations at the door, to manning (beez-ing) the Garage Sale table.
VOLUNTEER TO MC
Just as important as the dancers who entertain us, are the announcers who delight and inform us! We need volunteer MCs to introduce the dancers and convey information to the audience. If you love to MC (or are MC-curious and would love to try it out in a safe and supportive space!) we would love to have you. Just like at retreat, we would like to have several MCs over the course of the show. If you are also dancing, we can absolutely set your schedule to allow you to do both.
GARAGE SALE
YES we will have the famous Garage Sale table! Please bring your no longer needed, good quality, belly dance related items to donate, and bring cash to “feed the monkey” for those inevitable new goodies that need to come home with you. Pricing is by honor system, decide what the item is worth to you and pay accordingly. All proceeds directly benefit Emerald Sanctuary Retreat. Suggested items: Costumes and accessories, stage-worthy jewelry, costuming fabric and trim, belly dance-specific class wear and hip scarves, music, finger cymbals, themed trinkets and gifts (not needed: Street wear, street accessories like purses or shoes, items that are broken or in poor repair).
HEALTH AND ACCESSIBILITY
The front entrance of Mirkwood Public House is accessed via several stairs And/or there is a wheelchair ramp on the side of restaurant. Performer dressing areas will likely be up a full flight of stairs, there is however a restroom on the main floor that can be used to dress in. Please contact us at [email protected] so we can help you with accommodations, such as alternate entrance access or making space for mobility devices.
