About this Event
In this calming, hands-on workshop, the art of embroidery is combined with the practice of mindfulness– no prior experience needed! The workshop will cover the fundamentals of embroidery, including the foundational stitches, and how to use color, texture, and pattern to create a unique hand embroidered piece.
The session will begin in the museum gallery, with a guided tour of the current exhibitions. Participants will discuss the work on display, and draw inspiration from the featured themes and techniques. Participants will then learn the basic techniques of embroidery, as well as how to use it as a mindful way of connecting with themselves and the moment, before creating a final piece of their own.
Participants will receive an embroidery hoop, tea towel, needle and thread to finish their project at home. No experience needed. All materials included.
