Join Jess in our relaxed Four-Week Embroidery Hoop Class and learn the beautiful art of hand stitching from the very beginning.
No experience needed! This small-group course is designed for absolute beginners and builds gradually each week, so you’ll gain confidence with every new stitch. By the end of the four weeks, you’ll have created and finished your very own embroidery hoop artwork — either a simple hand-drawn design of your own or a pattern we provide.
Each 2-hour session combines clear demonstrations, guided practice, and plenty of one-on-one help. You’ll leave every class excited to keep stitching at home.
Course Overview:
In this four-week journey, we’ll explore essential tools and a wide variety of classic embroidery stitches that increase gently in difficulty. You’ll learn how to:
Week 1: Getting Started with the Basics
Equipment discussion — hoops, bobbins, flosses, needles, and fabric.
Master the foundational stitches: Back stitch, Running stitch, Straight stitch, and Satin stitch.
Week 2: Outline & Flowing Stitches
Add beautiful lines and loops with: Lazy daisy, Chain stitch, Split stitch, and Stem stitch.
Week 3: Textural & Decorative Stitches
Bring dimension and detail with: French knots, Fishbone stitch, Whipped stitch, and Woven stitch.
Plus: Pattern transfer techniques, including how to use heat pens — or simply pick a ready-made pattern if you prefer.
Week 4: Finishing & Creating Your Own Piece
Learn professional hoop finishing options and stitch your personal design (a simple hand-drawn piece) or a chosen pattern.
You’ll complete the course with a finished embroidery hoop you can proudly display!
