About this Event
The project Embodied Agents in Contemporary Visual Art (EACVA) is hosted by the University of Konstanz and Goldsmiths, University of London, and supported by the DFG (German Research Foundation) and the AHRC (Arts and Humanities Research Council). The EACVA Symposium marks the concluding event of the project Embodied Agents in Contemporary Visual Art (2023-25). This interdisciplinary project brings together artists, researchers, and scholars to explore how human creativity can be expanded through collaboration with robotics and artificial intelligence. Throughout the day, the project’s artists-in-residence will present the outcomes of a year working within our robotic labs. These include final artworks and experimental practices ranging from robotic drawing and hybrid painterly processes to new ways of integrating machines into artistic practice. Their presentations will be complemented by insights from philosophy, sociology, and robotics, offering critical reflections on embodiment, authorship, and aesthetics in the age of AI.
Open to the public, the symposium also features live robotic installations alongside talks and discussions, giving visitors a unique opportunity to experience firsthand how art and technology are reshaping one another.
