In this seminar to be held at Uni of Auckland, the topic of utilizing adaptive problem solving as the underpinning strategy in the learning/curricular design of your organizations' training programs will be explored in-depth. This session will be hosted by Jerry Jacob from the University of Auckland and the expert panel speaker will be Dr Kumar Laxman, CEO and lead consultant of Matri Training & Consulting.
Adaptive problem solving skills are critical to effective functioning, both as individuals and organizations. Adapting to dynamically changing scenarios is crucial to the success of organizational excellence. In this session, the elements of adaptive problem solving and how they can be embedded in the effective design and delivery of the training programs of your organization to make them engaging and immersive for your learners will be discussed. Dr Kumar Laxman will be sharing research evidence based principles and best practices of adaptive problem solving and examples of their application in the context of his recent consulting work with a number of organizations.
This session is free and open to all members of the public - this session will be interactive and you will have lots of opportunities to share your own stories/experiences and ask questions. This session will be of benefit to learning and curriculum designers and developers, training and HR professionals, educators, educational leaders and those in management and leadership roles.

About expert panel speaker: Dr Kumar Laxman currently runs his own consulting practice advising organizations in all aspects of evidence-informed training/learning and development strategies (www.matritraining.com). He was a professor of learning and development at the University of Auckland for over a decade. Prior to that he has had extensive working expertise in the field of learning design and technologies, having held a number of leadership roles in global organizations. He graduated with a PhD in instructional design from Macquarie University, Australia - his doctoral thesis was in the design and development of an innovative problem based learning model. He has led cutting edge research in learning design and has published his work in peer-reviewed, scientific journals.
