About this Event

Our next Embassy Retrospective event, focused on the East and Southeast Asian community will take place on 23 May, 6:30 - 9:30 PM, in collaboration with Central’s associate company New Earth Theatre.

Starting from the history of Chinese Australian actress Rose Quong, who performed on the Embassy Stage in 1929, the event will celebrate the presence and perspectives of the diverse and often unrecognized East and Southeast Asian community in British theatre.

The event will include a performance of All Other Passports, written by (Worth, Arcola Theatre). All Other Passports was created and written in collaboration with New Earth Performer’s Academy+ 2023, and originally directed by Broderick Chow and Rebeca Pereira-Gonzalez, with choreography by Richard Lee, and will be performed by the original cast members. The retrospective will also include a roundtable on the future of ESEA theatre, refreshments, music, and karaoke.
