The Ely Open is an a 18 hole golf outing hosted by the Friends of Ely Parks & Recreation. All proceeds benefit fundraising efforts by the Friends Group to support park and recreation related opportunities in Ely.This isn't your traditional golf outing.
Event Date: Saturday, August 8, 2026
Time: 9a packet pickup/hole assignment at the community center, 10am shotgun start from community center
Before the shotgun start, all participants will meet to review rules at the community center.
Registration opens at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 11th.
Entry Fee: $25/person
Entries will be limited to 216 golfers
Sign up as teams of 4 - 8

- 12 people per hole
- No real golf experience is required
- Golfers must be 18 or older
- Golfers will play their own ball and each person will be scored individually
- Residents who are hosting holes will design their hole and mow a green and a fairway, as well as a tee box in their yard. The Friends of Ely Parks & Recreation members will place the cup, flags, and tee box markers
7 iron, putter, and standard golf ball are required
- Wiffle balls are used at the tee and on the fairways and a standard golf ball is used on the green
- Wiffle balls will be provided
- Golf carts are encouraged and are be permitted on hard surfaces only. Do not drive in residents yards and please respect private property and City traffic laws.
- There will be a 50/50 Raffle
-Awards/Prizes at the After Party!
