Prepare to be taken back in time live on stage… starting in 1956 Elvis had recorded in Memphis at Sun Studios and had been appearing on the Louisiana Hayride where he caught the attention of Colonel Tom Parker! The Colonel took Elvis to RCA Records and launched him on Television with a string of hits!
We start in 1956 live on stage recreating that raw energy of the 50’s, the hip shaking king of Rock n Roll! Featuring costumes from the famous ‘Lansky Brothers’ clothes store in Memphis.
In 1958 Elvis had enjoyed two years of hit records, TV appearances and made four movies including King Creole and Jailhouse Rock before been drafted to the US Army for two years!
We take you back to 1960…Elvis is Back! His first big Movie GI BLUES hits the cinemas… the soundtrack goes platinum, he appears on the Frank Sinatra show…wearing the famous GI uniform Mark takes to the stage with a selection of songs sure to get everyone singing along… ‘Its a Hup two three four… Occupation GI Blues’.
Throughout the 1960s the Colonel signed Elvis into major movie contracts, he quickly becomes the highest paid actor in Hollywood… its time to get those Hawaiian shirts on and ‘Rock a Hula Baby’… we take you through a selection of Elvis’ hit movie tunes with a touch of ‘Viva Las Vegas’.
Throughout the 1960s Elvis made over 30 Movies, he had became tired with Hollywood and their image of him, same movie scripts different locations, third rate songs… the Beatles and the stones had hit the USA, music was changing! In 1968 the Colonel decided it was time to put Elvis back on TV with a Christmas special! Elvis new that this was his chance to show the world who the real Elvis Presley was… he needed to make a Comeback and boy did he comeback!
Dressed in those famous black leathers we invite you to be part of the now infamous NBC Elvis Comeback Special, an interactive section of the show like no other! Be part of that audience… watch the iconic comeback live and the moment Elvis sang one of his most powerful and iconic songs ‘If I Can Dream’.
After the Comeback special Elvis wanted to appear live on stage again in front of live audiences… The Colonel said “If my boy is to go back on stage it has to be the greatest stage in the world… Vegas” In 1969 Elvis opened at the New Las Vegas International Hotel where he broke all attendance records. The Colonel quickly signed Elvis into a contract….in 1970 It was decided to film Elvis for a new Movie ‘Elvis Thats the Way it Is’ we bring that charisma, look and energy back to the stage. Wearing those iconic Jumpsuits we take you to Vegas! Packed with all the greatest hits and some surprises we take you through the 1970 Summer Festival and the 1972 ‘On Tour Concert’ The show has something for everyone!
