About this Event

A still life drawing course taught by artist Lily Buchanan for six weeks upstairs at Little Swift.

This course will be time for you to practice your drawing, play and relax into experiments in your sketchbook. This will be a wonderful time for you to build up your drawing practices together as a group. Each week you will be drawing from a wonderous still life set up in front of the beautiful windows of Little Swift looking out to sea. We'll start off with line drawings in pencil and ink, then develop on to colours and more abstract still lifestyles, then twist into more surreal techniques. We'll also make our own object charachters and delve into the theory of Onjet Orientated Ontology in week six. Along the way we will look at a wide range of amazing artists from Matisse, Winifred Nicholson, Mary Fedden, Gwen John, Philip Guston, Morandi, Annie, Pootogook and more to help inspire your work.
