About this Event
Join us for a tour of the historic Elkwood House: built c.1835, the house was designed by Matthew Kennedy for the Bufords. Kennedy was one of the first know architects in Kentucky and designed Transylvania University Main Building and the second Kentucky Capitol.
Learn more about Kennedy, features that make his buildings unique, and how the house has changed over time from local UK student and historian Wesley Francis. Then continue the tour with Bluegrass Distillers and be immersed in their grain-to-glass process from field to bottle.
For generations, the land has been dedicated to farming and today continues that legacy as the foundation of Bluegrass Distillers. Surrounded by the very fields where they grow blue corn and wheat, you’ll experience firsthand how their commitment to quality begins in the soil.
From there, you’ll explore our brand-new, state-of-the-art distillery and production spaces. Learn how they transform locally grown grains into premium spirits through careful fermentation, distillation, and aging. Options for a Bourbon tasting are available with Bluegrass Distillers post tour.
Proceeds to benefit the Blue Grass Trust.
Parking available to the right of Elkwood House.
