About this Event
“Hollywood Hits'“ show features charts from movie soundtracks, Broadway and TV theme songs - think Mission Impossible, Sanford & Son, MASH, and Sesame Street. Everyone knows these songs and hearing them will bring back fond memories. Always a crowd favorite, we augment this program annually with new songs. This is a really great show for newcomers and for young musicians. This is also a show skewed towards uptempo so be prepared for some toe-tapping and a few "whoo hoos".
The Elkin Big Band is an 18-piece jazz orchestra from Elkin, NC. They play big band jazz reminiscent of Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Count Basie, and Stan Kenton. Their repertoire includes more than 150 jazz classics. Since 1982, the Elkin Big Band has been bringing big band jazz to the Yadkin River Valley and surrounding communities. They are the only home grown big band in northwest North Carolina and like to think of themselves as, "The best small town big band in America!"
