The Center for Art Law Switzerland cordially invites you to our first event of 2026, as part of the CINELöwenbräukunst series.

Join us for the Zurich premiere of Elephants & Squirrels, a documentary following Sri Lankan artist Deneth Piumakshi Veda Arachchige as she uncovers looted artefacts and human remains of the indigenous Wanniyala-Aetto people held in Basel museum archives, and her determined efforts to secure their repatriation to Sri Lanka.

The screening will be followed by a conversation on the legacy of 20th-century collecting and the enduring questions surrounding cultural heritage, colonial history, and the ethics of museum stewardship.
