🪦 Graveyard is built on 30+ years of gothic sub-culture here in Spokane. Featuring experienced curation and a dedication to cultivating safe spaces and facilitating access to big city culture, without the need to travel to the big city. Goth and adjacent genres, plus a few surprises, in an inclusive, welcoming environment built on community, music, and dark culture.
🪦 About your hosts:
Elisabeth, aka DJ LunaGoth, has been slipping down Spokane streets, music in ear, since the late ‘80s. You could find her with her fellow weirdos at the gathering places available to under-agers back then, 24 hour diners/coffee shops and Rocky Horror. Spokane was 350+ miles from goth/industrial shows and club nights, meaning funds and days off would be necessary to be able to travel to access sub-culture. Spokane’s gay bars became a safe haven, with Dempsey’s having its informal “Table of Darkness” (2 tables pushed together to house the dozen or so goths). The DJ would spin some New Order or something sometimes as a treat.
Fast forward to the early 2010’s, when, with the help of social media, event organization was suddenly possible and monthly events began being held. She helped co-found Elektro Grave in 2013 and has been delighting in facilitating musical sub-culture at events ever since.
